About Me

Alexandra G. Garcia, a long-serving senior executive, has spent her career assisting in the management of a pioneering, ambitious, and ever-expanding family firm. She most recently worked with CIP, or Chemical Industries of the Philippines, Inc., as Chief Operating Officer and Compliance & Information Officer. Garcia, who has been with the company for a long time, added Compliance & Information Officer to her COO responsibilities in September 2017.

Dr. Eusebio S. Garcia started CIP in 1951 as the Philippines' first chemical production firm. CIP began by making sulfuric acid and eventually moved on to fertilizer production. As the corporation expanded, it prepared the path for the country's chemical sector to thrive. CIP would eventually evolve into the Chemphil Group of Firms, which would include multiple joint venture companies co-owned by worldwide partners. Another first was when CIP expanded to establish the Philippines' first polyphosphates and alkyl benzene factories.

Alexandra G. Garcia also served on the CAWC, Inc. board of directors. CAWC is a completely owned subsidiary of CIP and has been a leading manufacturer of high-quality food, technical, and ceramic grade phosphates, as well as phosphoric acid products, for more than 50 years. The firm is a market leader in the chemical industry and a preferred supplier to international companies in the detergent and food sectors. As a BFAD-accredited food grade firm, the company continues to develop novel high-value food grade phosphates in order to contribute to the Philippines' and Asia Pacific region's economic growth.

Alexandra G. Garcia was on the board of directors of Kemwater Phil Corp (KPC) and advised on a joint venture founded in 1998 with Kemira Oy of Finland. The company is a market leader in the manufacturing of water treatment chemicals. KPC manufactures both solid and liquid aluminum sulfate, an inorganic coagulant that is utilized in both drinking water and wastewater treatment. The water, paper, and detergent industries are among its customers.

Alexandra G. Garcia now serves on the board of directors of CMC, or Chemphil Manufacturing Corp. Previously, she held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of LMG Chemicals Corp. LMG Chemicals Corporation owns 100% of CMC. Their primary products are sulfuric acid, oleum, and sulfur flakes of technical grade and chemical purity. Their operation recycles a hazardous by-product of local oil refineries: molten sulfur, in an environmentally acceptable manner (far below SO2 gas emission requirements). They are also contributing to the industrial community's occasional power constraint by operating a turbo generator that powers surrounding companies and reduces reliance on the Manila Electric Company. Alexandra G. Garcia was on the board of directors of LMG Chemicals Corp. for over 15 years, from 2002 to 2017.
